Dr. Owen Cardwell and Dr. Roger Jones, founders of the University of Lynchburg’s Center for Leadership, have launched numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives and futures of young people and emerging leaders in the Lynchburg, Virginia, area.
Their efforts are largely in support of Lynchburg Tomorrow, a collaborative, University of Lynchburg-led effort, and Lynchburg City Council’s “Lynchburg Plan,” a visionary initiative aimed at nurturing grassroots leaders.
In the White Rock Hill and Diamond Hill neighborhoods of Lynchburg, Cardwell and Jones identified and trained 12 emerging leaders — people with passion, commitment, and a deep desire to make a difference in their neighborhoods.
